Born in Whitechapel British graphic designer was one of the best in his expertise in 20th century.
His style stands out from other contemporaries as it is very robust, active and and full of strong but not very bright colours. His typography is wisely intergrated giving the message he is trying to put through, stronger meaning. This makes me see the importance of typography even more and how it can work with an image rather than stand out or distract from the image.
Let’s have a look at some of his work.
It’s amazing how everyday we look at some designs witout even thinking who is behind it.
His style is very much unique and hard to mistake it for anybody’s elses. For younger generation spome posters may have no meaning but it’s up to us wanting to get to know history and see for ourselves how far we have come.
