Work Placement: Earth London Tv

We have been sent to do work placement for two weeks and I have been sent to Earth London Tv. They are an accomplished graphics company, working in motion design, animation, interactive systems, GFX & VFX to produce creative moving image & video for all media including broadcast TV.  Here is their showreel to give you an idea of what work they are doing. Big names such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and 5, Jaguar, Ferrari, name it they have done seriously great job for them.

Their work and professionalism blew my mind. They took time out of their busy schedules to talk me through how some of the software used in motion graphics work and process of what it looks like from when they first get a brief until final submission.

The office itself was very cosy and quiet. The big plus was that the director would come with his dog Fennel.

To let a stranger in, give them an insight into their work and files and make them feel comfortable is something some people wouldn’t appreciate but I do.

I have been shown programmes made from scratch which haven’t been released yet so I couldn’t take pictures and talk about it but experience is something that will stay with me.

They do interactive game systems and I was shown how show “Impossible” has been made and the control system they use. I don’t even have vocabulary to describe it all.

They even get the buttons that contestants press designed and produced. Those people are dedicated, focused and definitely hard working.

I felt like I have been part of the team already and every day I would go there with a smile on my face excited about what I will do next.
